Death from Acute Valvular heart disease.. He lived in a house on the corner of Shaffer and East River Rd. section 26 Edenville Twp. (This area was called Wrights Bridge) He maintained a large barn, training and taking care of the horses for the Tittabawassee Boom Co. He also worked as a lumberjack and did some farming in the summer. David traveled by train from Sanford to the area where William H. Gransden, his father, was living in Chicago to bring him back home to Edenville. When the lumbering era came to a end in Michigan he moved to the Freeland area to farm. After his dad died his mother Mary Ann moved in with him till she died in 1926, and Willie and Margaret (Perry) Gransden farmed the south 40 acres in Edenville.
David married Hetty Hemstead. (Hetty Hemstead was born on 26 Aug 1861 in Indiana, died on 16 Feb 1949 in Saginaw Michigan USA and was buried in West Side Cemetery (F) Freeland Mi..)
David next married Cora Elizabeth Wilcox, daughter of John Henry Wilcox and Anne Elizabeth Shepherd, on 7 Mar 1886 in Jerome Twp, Midland, Michigan, USA.
