Walter travelled to New Zealand and from their moved to Canada, prospecting for gold. While there Walter broke his leg quite badly and returned to New Zealand and then to Sydney.

Dorothy married Walter Raymond Lockwood, son of Frederick Nicholas Churcher Lockwood and Emma Atkins. (Walter Raymond Lockwood was born in 1885 in Parramatta ⁷¹ and died on 7 Mar 1945 in Sydney, NSW, Australia ⁷¹.)
