The death occurred at Cairns Hospital after a long illness of Mrs Minnie Ruth Abbott. Mrs Abbott was a native of Manildra, having been born in Manildra 87 years ago to the late Mr Geoorge and Annie Cassell, pioneers of this distrist who first settled Gregra. She is survived by her daughter Muriel (Mrs Bawdry of McMahons Beach, Qld) and stepbrother George, Bachelor (West Wyalong), brother Milton ("Dunrobin", Manildra) and stepsisters Violet (Mrs Kircher of West Wyalong) and Pansy (Mrs Holmkvist of Mullumbimby),
Minnie married Arthur Leslie Abbott in 1919 in Manly, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.
