bullet  General Notes:

(1) WEDDING. GARLAN - STAINES. A very pretty wedding was celebrated at the Methodist church on Saturday January 24th, at 2:30pm when Eva Staines, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs Joe Staines of Hospital Hill, Molong was joined in holy matrimony to Harry, second son of Mr and Mrs Garlan of Sydney.
The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a pretty frock of ankle length satin, together with the customary wreath and veil, and carried a bouquet of white flowers and ferns. The bride's sister, Mrs Brooks was matron of honour, and chose an ankle length pale pinjk georgette frock, with a pale pink sash, with tulle and sprays of pink pink blossoms for her head: she carried a bouquet of pink gladioli and fern. Little Betty Paix, niece of the bride, was flower girl, dresed in pale green, trimmed with black bows and carried a basket of flowers. Mr Sam Paix performed the duties of best man. During the signing of the register, Mrs Barter sang "Because". At the conclusion of the ceremony a number of guests sat down to the wedding breakfast in the hall. The bride's mother chose a dress of brown floral silk, and wore a brown hat. The two tiered wedding cake was made by Mrs Staines. Mr Page performed the duties of chairman, calling on different speakers who added their tributes to the good wishes extended to the happy young couple. Amongst the telegrams received was one from Eva's brother, who is at present in Darwin. The future home of the couple will be in Sydney.
