(3) Jude and Maria married on 15 March 1899 in Diamond Swaamp. (NSW). They were married at the residence of George Cole Russell. Witnesses to the marriage were Joseph Cole and Martha Jane Russell.
Jude was a bachelor and a farmer. Jude is mentioned in the book "Sunny Corner a Silver Town" by Vicki Powys.
In April 1893 a Bushranger named Slippery JAck stole a double barrelled breach-loading shotgun, cartridge belt, trousers, shirt and other clothing and a quantity of provisions from Jude Kemp then farming at Eusdale Creek near Meadow Flat.
In the early 1900's in order4 to educate his children Juude built a school room on his property and the Education department sent a teacher to teach his children and children from surrounding farms for a half day each day and the teacher charged each child three pence for lessons. (It is not known if this fee was for a day, a week or a month).
(4) The Bathurst National Advocate. Reports "This was the complaint received at yesterdays Turon Shire meeting from Mr Jude Kemp of Eusdale, Tarana.
Quote. A Discourteous Ratepayer. I received the notice to pay the Rates, and I refuse to pay them until you grant me a road out. I am willing to pay rates on the 47 acres at any time. I applied for a road 12 months ago. I have no road at all, and fail to see why I should pay rates when I have no road out.
Councillor Godfrey moved that the letter be received. He said the letter would have to be written in a different manner before the request could be granted, the motion seconded by Councillor Hodge, was carried.
