   Cause of her death was Hemiphlegia and decay over four years.

Census of 7 June 1841 Dorothy was living in Leine St, Leeds, Yorkshire, ENGLAND. Listed as the wife of George Greathead.
Emigrated on 6 November 1841 from Liverpool, Lancashire, England travelling steerage class on the ship Martha Ridgway (621 tons), the ship struck Barret's reef and had seven feet of water in her hold but fortunately they arrived safley in Port Nicholson, Wellington, New Zealand, on the 7th of April 1842. There were 21 deaths, eleven caused by dysentry, seven births, one of which was Jane Greathead born 26th December 1841, but she died before they arrived in New Zealand, she was buried at sea. The Martha Ridgway was later wrecked off the Great Barrier Reef, sometime around 11 August 1842.
Mssrs Ridgway & Guyton, EJ Wakefield boarded the ship at Port Nicholson representing the township of Nelson. Distribution of allotments within the Nelson township was held between 11 April 1842 and the 15th of April 1842.
George and Dorothy moved to Wellington in 1847.

Dorothy married George Greathead, son of George Greathead and Jane Bellerby, on 3 May 1835 in St Johns Church, Newcastle Upon Tyne, Durham, England.²⁹ (George Greathead was born on 27 Apr 1813 in Hudswell, Richmond, Yorkshire, ENGLAND,²⁹ died on 17 Sep 1885 in Carterton NEW ZEALAND ²⁹ and was buried on 20 Sep 1885 in Greytown, Wairarapa, New Zealand ²⁹.)
