Discrepancy between Rebkahs marriage and death certificate. On her marriage certificate the name of her mother is Sarah Parker on the death certificate- index only, Rebekah's mothers name is noted as Anne Parker.
Birth registration for Rebekah give mothers name as Sarah Parker. Sarah has signed her name in her own hand.
Sarah Parker, born about 1804, age 63 died in Victoria. Fathers name Joseph Parker, mothers name Sarah Stone. Registration year 1867, Victoria 7411.
Only partially matches previous information with Sarah Stone as Sarah's mothers name rather than Martha. Is it possible that there was a mix up with the names and Sarah's name put as mother in Law instead of Martha's name. Alternatively the Martha name could be incorrect.

Doesn't make sense as there is a will for James Elphick, wife Sarah, that suggests he dies in 1857. So is this the wrong James and Sarah Elphick? Get the death certificates to check.

Death certificate says that Sarah had been 5 years in Victoria, but it was unknown when she had arrived in the Colony.

Married Leatherhead Surrey, England 25 years to James Elphick. One daughter, Rebecca 34 years.

1861 on the Telegraph a Mrs Elphick travelled from Moreton Bay, Queensland to Sydney Australia with two children. Is it possible that this is Sarah Elphick nee Parker who was escorting some children to Queensland before she made her way down to Victoria? Difficult to say, she did not travel with her daughter.

Headstone has Rebeca Elphick, sister of Edward Stone Parker, died 4th of May 1867 Aged 63 years. Sarah may have been known as Rebecca, this would certainly make sense as her daughter was Rebekah. The date does not agree with the death certificate which says 16th of May, rather than 4th of May, but this could still make sense. Everything else fits with this being the gravestone of Sarah Elphick.
