  General Notes:

It is possible that the Sarah down here is not the mother of James Carter and that James Carter snr was married previously to another Sarah. This would fit as the records do not show a base born child here or any irregularities as far as a wedding goes.
There is a section of the Parish Registers missing. A possible earlier marriage for James Carte may have been in the missing section of the Registers.
