The 17 year old Mary Ann married William Watson at the Waverly home of Mr. John Bolton (Boulton?) on 24 May 1867. Witnesses to the marriage are John Bolton and Sarah Hammond, and Mrs Ann Bolton, mother of Mary Ann, gave her consent, she being under the age of 21. Watson family records sometimes show May Ann's surname as whitney, but it is alsmost always officially recorded as Witney. A handwritten copied extract from a Watson family bible names her as Mary Ann Whitney, but a transcript form the official record of the same event lists her as Mary Ann Witney.
At time of death Mary Ann was listed as having been in the Colonies for 69 years. Her religion was listed as Congregational.
