(2) WEDDING....A party was held at the home of Mrs.Heather Warby of Auburn last
Tuesday night, to celebrate the Golden Wedding anniversary of parents, Mr. and
Mrs.Fred Cole of Lidcombe. Mr. and Mrs.Cole lived in Orange for many years
until World War 2, when they moved to Lidcombe. Mrs.Cole was the daughter of a
well known Redbank farmer and grazier and in her younger days was regarded as
an outstanding horse woman. After their marriage Mr. and Mrs.Cole opened a
business at Cumnock, and then took up farming at Molong before moving to
Wellington and then to Orange. During his years in Orange Mr.Cole owned the
local agency for the Singer Sewing Machine Co., and during this period was
awarded a canteen of cutlery for becoming the States most outstanding salesman.
Their four children, Frank, Raymond, Heather and Catherine attended the party
as well as their sons-in-law Athol Warby and Ted Crickette and three of their
eleven grand-children. During the evening Mr.Cole proudly showed a watch case
in which were some locks of auburn coloured hair. He said that they were locks
of his mother's hair, and that he had carried them in his watch case for 62
years. A delicious supper, prepared by their daughters Heather and Catherine
was served, and the evening concluded with the singing of "For They Are Jolly
Good Fellows" and wishing the couple "long life and good health".

SP27.06.1985.Sydney.(2) Central Western Daily. Saturday. 28 January 1967. Obituary. Mrs T.Cole. The death occured in Sydney on January 17 of Theresa Cole, aged 93 years. She was the wife of Frederick Charles Cole of 16 Proctor Street, Chester Hill. Mrs Cole was born at Eurimbla, Cumnock, on June 28, 1873, and was the youngest of 10 children of Henry Thomas and Sarah Elizabeth Purcell. In 1906 she married Frederick Charles Cole at Molong. Their children were sons Charles and John (deceased), Francis (Sydney), Raymond (Sydney), daughters Miriam (deceased), Heather (Mrs A.Warby, Auburn), Kath (Mrs K.Crickette, Chester Hill), and also 16 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Mrs Cole was a champion horsewoman in her youth, and even in later years she would speak of her wonderful horse "Stella", and her two champion sheep dogs "Nell" and "Jackie". Her grandfather, Sir John Purcell drove the first bullock wagon over the Blue Mountains. Mr and Mrs Cole spent most of their married life in Molong, Wellington and Orange, moving to Sydney in 1950. Mrs Cole's health deteriorated slowly over the last six years which she spent in Chesalon Church of England Nursing Home at Harris Park. Mr Cole visited his wife six days a week for all the years she was hospitalised. After a service conducted by the Salvation Army at Timmins Funeral Parlors, Parramatta, the funeral cortege moved to the Rookwood Crematorium.
(3) Addendum, by J.G.Kelson........
Theresa' grandfather John Purcell, never attained the title nor Knighthood. Negative indication that he ever drove Bullock wagons over the Blue Mountains. Though her father, when retired from seafaring, conducted a carrying business and quite possibly travelled this route...........

Obituary 3.
FLOWERS BLOOMING IN HEAVEN AND EARTH.
Death has been very busy with its icy hand in Molong of late, and has left many sad hearts. The majority of its victims have beeen the young. One of them was the only son of Brother Fred and Mrs Cole of Redbank. Little Charlie was but seventeen months old, and was dedicated to God and His service in the Salvation Army some months previously; but God saw fit to take back again early that which He gave. It was very hard , but father and mother breathed "Amen" to His will.
Much sorrow was caused in the home on the 25th of March on account of the loss, but joy sprang up on the 1st of April when the Lord gave back another boy to cheer the saddened hearts.
May God abundantly bless and cheer both father, maother and son.M iii Francis William Cole F iv Miriam Ruth Cole was born 1 on 31 Dec 1910 in Molong,New South Wales,Australia.
