John Stewart Howarth [Parents] was born 1 on 26 Apr 1887 in Gregra, NSW, Australia. He died 2 on 19 Nov 1960 in Orange, NSW, Australia. He was buried 3 in Molong, NSW, Australia. He married 4 Letitia May Johnson on 23 Apr 1912 in Red Hill, Molong, New South Wales, Australia.

(2) Obituary.....The death occurred recently in the Orange Base Hospital of Mr.
John Howarth, aged 73 years, of 178 March Street, Orange. He had been ill for a
month prior to his death. He was born at Gregra and was the son of the late Mr.
and Mrs. Alfred Howarth, well known residents in the Manildra district. After
his marriage to Miss Letitia May Johnson, the couple made their home in Taree
and later moved to Molong where Mr.Howarth entered the carrying business and
also worked as a carpenter. After retirement eight years ago he resided in
Orange. The late Mr.Howarth was married twice, his first wife predeceasing him
by many years. By his first marrige he is survived by a fasmily of four sons
and three daughters, Leonard and John (Molong), Henry (Gulargambone), Leslie
(Sydney), Ethel (Mrs.Chappell, Orange), Emily (Mrs.Brown, Sydney), Daphne
(Mrs.Barnes, Molong). By his second marriage, he is survived by his widow,
formerly Miss Dorothy Barnes and daughter Dorothy Diane. Two brothers and three
sisters also survive. The funeral left the Salvation Army Citadel after a
service, for interment in the Molong cemetary. Major Clarke of Orange
officiated at the Church and graveside. C.A.Hyland and Son were in charge of
funeral arrangements.

Letitia May Johnson [Parents] was born 1 on 26 Jan 1892 in Garra,New South Wales,Australia. She died 2 on 1 Jul 1949 in Molong,New South Wales,Australia. (2) Obituary.....The Molong district lost one of its best known residents last
weekend on the death of Mrs. Letitia May Howarth. She was 57 years of age. The
late Mrs. Howarth had been in ill health for some weeks. She took an stroke on
Thursday morning, June 30 and passed away on Friday night. Born at Garra she
was one of a family of five children of the late Mr. and Mrs.H.O.Johnson well
known settlers in that part of the country. In 1912 she married Mr.John Howarth
of Molong and they took up residence for some time on the North Coast; mainly
in the Taree district. Mr. and Mrs. Howarth eturned to Molong in 1925. Mrs.
Howarth was a active worker for the Salvation Army and was always willing to
lend a helping hand to anyone. She was a wonderful wife and mother, and a
friend to all. Left to mourn her death are a sorrowing husband, and seven
children. Emily (Mrs.M.L.Brown,Molong), Daphne (Mrs.N.J.Barnes,Boomey),Ethel,
(Molong), Henry (Euchareena), and Leonard, John and Leslie all of Molong. One
brother Walter, of Molong and sister Maybell (Mrs.Everingham,Molong) also
survive. Two other brothers , Herbert and Oldham predeceased her. The funeral
took place on Sunday when after a service in the Salvation Army Hall, the
remains were interred in the Methodist portion of the Molong cemetary. Capt.
Spence officiated at the church and graveside. Mr A.P.McKeowen, funeral
director of Molong had charge of the mortuary arrangements.
(3) Following several months illness as a result of a stroke, Sister Mrs Letitia May Howarth, of Molong has been called to her Eternal reward. The hall was filled to capacity for the service conducted by Captain and Mrs Spence. Envoy C.Mann offereed prayer, and Sister Mrs R.Batcheldor of Lithgow paid atribute to her friends loyalty and service for God. After the committal at the cemetery, a vocal duet was rendered by Mrs Captain Spence and Bandsman R.Mann.
Throughout her entire Salvation Army experience Sister Howarth was faithful to her duties as a Salvationist and as a mother. Up to the time of her illness, she regularly took part in the Corps activities. She received the tribute of friends and townspeople of all denominations who testify to the fact that her life was lived for the Kingdom.

(3) Obituary.....The death occurred in Molong District Hospital recently of a
well known and highly respected resident in the person of Mr.Leonard James
Howarth, aged 50 years. He had been a well known figure in the Molong district
for many years. He is survived by his wife Marjorie, four daughters, Esther
(Molong), Robyn (Molong), Jocelyn (Molong), Carolyn (Molong) and one son
Leonard Wayne (Molong). A son and daughter predeceased him. There are also
three sisters, Ethel (Mrs.Chappell, Orange), Emily (Mrs.Brown, Maroubra),
Daphne (Mrs.Barnes, Molong) and three brothers, Henry (Gilgandra), John
(Molong) and Leslie (Rydalmere). The funeral service was conducted by Major
Hopkins of Orange Salvation Army. The service at the Salvation Army Hall was
followed by interment in the Methodist portion of Molong cemetary. Funeral
arrangements were in the hands of Messr. C.A.Hyland and Son.
