Phillis and William had no children.
Kathleen Welch remembers Phillis and William as lovely friendly people who used to visit Magpie Hall. They lived at Plumstead near London.
Phillis used to sew tenis balls before the war. Tennis balls are made of two sections and they were sewen together by hand, a very hard job. Kathleen remembers having a lot of thimbles in the sewing box because Phillis would wear them out then they could be used for ordinary sewing.
Phillis died the same year as her brother Richard.
