(2) WEDDING....Mr. and Mrs.G.Staines were entertained by members of their family
at the home of Mr. and Mrs.Bert Staines last week on the occassion of their
Golden Wedding anniversary. Mr. and Mrs.Staines senior were married at Manildra
Baptist church on May 22, 1907 and are amongst the best known and most highly
respected residents in the district. Because of Mrs.Staines ill health, the
party was limited to members of the family and close friends. Those present
included the whole of the family, and Mrs.Staines two sisters, Mrs.Cassell and
Mrs.Hetterick (formerly Carter) who was bridesmaid at the wedding. The family is Glad
(Mrs.Grundy, Griffith), Cecil (Griffith), Rose (Mrs.Campbell of Molong), Pearl
(Mrs.Craythorne of Molong) and Bert (Molong). Mr Bert Staines was chairman and
a toast was offered to the health and happiness to the guests of honour. Mr.
Hunter Caldwell who was present, also said a few words offering congratulations
on the length of their married life. A beautiful cake which was cut by the
guests of honour was made by Miss J.Hull.

(3) Obituary.....The death occurred on September 14 at the home of her daughter
Mrs.J.C.Campbell of Hill Street, of Mrs. Eleanor Jane Staines wife of Mr.
George Staines of Norah Creek. The late Mrs.Staines was 69 years of age. She
was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.Cole of Manildra and spent her younger days in
that district. After her marriage in May 1907 the couple settled in Molong
where she lived until the time of her death. Mrs.Staines was well known and
highly respected throughout the Molong district. Mr and Mrs Staines celebrated
their Golden Wedding anniversary in May of this year with a quiet family
gathering at their home in Norah Creek. Mrs.Staines is survived by her husband
and two sons, Cecil of Griffith and Bert of Molong, and three daughters, Gladys
(Mrs.F.Grundy of Griffith), Rose (Mrs.J.C.Campbell of Molong) and Pearl (Mrs.
H.Craythorne of Molong). A daughter Jessie died in 1917 aged 3 years. Two
sisters, Mrs.Cassell and Mrs Hetterick of Sydney also survive whilst a sister,
Mrs.H.Ford died last year. The funeral was from Molong Baptist church and
interment took place in the Baptist portion of Molong cemetary.
