(1) N.S.W.BDM Index Birth #26208-1886 (2) Obituary......The death occurred at Molong District Hospital on Thursday, February 11th of George Staines, a well known and highly respected resident of Nora Creek and Molong district. He was born at Molong and was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Staines. He was married at Manildra Baptist Church in 1907, his bride being Eleanor Jane Cole. They afterwards took up residence at Crystal Springs. Mr. and Mrs. Staines later moved to his fathers farm at Redbank and in 1929 they took up residence at Nora Creek, where they lived until their deaths. A keen sportsman Mr.Staines was a noted tennis player in his younger days. The late Mr.Staines is survived by two sons and three daughters. Cecil (Griffith), Gladys (Mrs.F.Grundy), Rose (Mrs.Campbell), Bert (Molong) and Pearl (Mrs.Craythorne). Another daughter, Jessie died in 1917 and his wife Eleanor some 2 years ago. He is also survived by two brothers Tom and Jack of Molong. Four other brothers, Alfred, Stanley, Arthur and Sep are deceased. The funeral was from the Baptist Church Molong on Saturday 13th and was conducted by Rev.Gower. Interment was made in the Baptist portion of Molong cemetary. Messrs.C.A.Hyland and Son had charge of arrangements.
