bullet  General Notes:

YANDOO SOCIETY.
On Friday and Saturday last, August 23 and 24, the Rockdale Town Hall had quite a festive appearance, upon the occasion of the Cafe Chantant held by the above Society, in aid of Kogarah Red Cross. Mrs. C. Boyce, of Sydney, very gracefully opened the Chantant and remarked on the very worthy work and splendid results achieved by the Yandoo Society's efforts. Mrs. Hanigan (Mayoress of Kogarah), heartily seconded Mrs. Boyce's remarks, and said such a well known patriotic society as the Yandoo's, deserved all the praise possible. A large number of patrons patronised the stalls and a very brisk business was done by the ladies in charge, who deserve the greatest credit for the manner in which they have worked. The concert programme was also well appreciated. Miss Edith Brokenshire in her Butterfly song and dance was accorded a hearty encore, her dance especially be ing charmingly executed and her chorus of butterflies, exceedingly beautiful. Miss B. Smith was received in her usual manner and was encored for her soldier song. Small wonder her soldier boys had no wish to get well. Miss Lucie Russell and her little maids were very quaint and picturesque in their Oriental nujmber. Master Gil Smith, and Albert Ikin, in their two songs, were tip top, and both were recalled by laughing and delighted audiences. Flossie Craven and Florence Anderson were very good in their duet, as were Irene Loveday and Doris Murray. Ted Platt, quite a new chum at the game, was also a decided success, his rendering of "God, send you back to me," showing a voice of great sweetness and quality. The balance sheet of the Society is not yet completed, but the grand sum of between. £140 and £150 is assured, which
is, we are sure, very satisfactory from every point of view.

SANS SOUCI COT FUND.
Miss M. Small desires to acknowledge with thanks the sum of £5/3/0 towards the Sans Souci Cot Fund, the combined efforts of the Misses Flossie Craven, Florence Anderson, Nellie and Essie Cohen, Edie and Gwen Perry, who have worked up and organised a bazaar and concert, with energy and spirit, not withstanding the depressing effect of the flu. These girls and their little friends have put most of their holiday time to good use. We trust they will still maintain their dauntless spirit as they
grow up, so that the world will be all the better for such young philanthrophists.
