General Notes:
Joseph Watson arrived in South Australia 1839. When Joseph died in 1890 he had been in NSW for 35 years and had spent 1 year in South Australia and 2 years New Zealand prior coming to NSW. 11 or 12 children were born of this marriage to Hannah including four or five sons who died- Hannah Jnr,. Jane, William, Newman, Charles, John and Alice surviving him.

Carpenter at the time of Alice Watsons birth- birthplace noted on Alice's birth registration as Durham England. So the birth details for Joseph could still be incorrect as the informant for Alice's birth was Joseph himself.

Crypt at Rookwood cemetery- almost unreadable- Sacred to the memory of Joseph Watson who died August 2nd 1871 aged 26 years and 1 day. Also sacred to the memory of the 1st Hannah beloved wife, sacred to the memory of Joseph Watson Snr who died 18 Feb 1890 Aged 75 years.

A certificate was given to Jennifer Ann Bonney nee Livermore on the 17th of September 1999 commemoration Joseph Watson and Hannah Catley resident in South Australia more than 100 years ago.

Parish Register for marriage of Joseph Watson and Hannah Catley- Joseph Watson, bachelor of Adelaide, late of teh Parish of Newcastle Upon Tyne, England and Hannah Catley, spinster, of Adelaide, late of the Parish of Marcham, Berkshire were married in this Church by Bannes this fourteenth day of November in the Year One thousand eight hundred and forty. By me Thos B. Howard? Both Joseph and Hannah signed their own names, witnesses are unclear but it looks like Goldsome and Jane Morway.
