General Notes: The family bible was given to Hannah on the advent of her marriage in 1840, it was given to her by her father, Charles Catley of Bunting Ford, Hammersmith, County London (anecdotal information, Norma Watson). Hannah's father, however is identified on her death certificate as George Cately, a veterinary surgeion. The bible was given to William Watson, when he married Mary Ann Witney/Whitney. Hannah married Joseph Watson, son of Joseph Watson and Frances, on 14 Nov 1840 in Adelaide SA, Australia.264 (Joseph Watson was born on 22 Mar 1814 in Windy Nook, Northumberland, England 47, christened on 17 Apr 1814 in Newcastle-On-Tyn, Northumberland,47 died on 18 Feb 1890 in 4 Frederick St, Petersham New South Wales, Australia 265 and was buried on 20 Feb 1890 in Rookwood, New South Wales, Australia 265.). The cause of his death was Morbus Cordis- possibly gangrene. Marriage Notes: Parish Register for marriage of Joseph Watson and Hannah Catley- Joseph Watson, bachelor of Adelaide, late of teh Parish of Newcastle Upon Tyne, England and Hannah Catley, spinster, of Adelaide, late of the Parish of Marcham, Berkshire were married in this Church by Bannes this fourteenth day of November in the Year One thousand eight hundred and forty. By me Thos B. Howard? Both Joseph and Hannah signed their own names, witnesses are unclear but it looks like Goldsome and Jane Morway. |
