John married Sarah Wood, daughter of Robert Wood and Sarah Longley, on 1 Feb 1782 in St Nicholas, Strood, Kent, England.328 (Sarah Wood was christened on 25 Nov 1759 in Strood, Kent, England 292 and died on 5 Jan 1846 in Poor House, Portsea Island, Portsmouth, Hampshire, Kent 331.)

bullet  Marriage Notes:

John Gransden was living in Strood by the time of his marriage as he is registred as being a member of Strood Parish. Sarah Wood is also living in Strood. John is noted as bachelor and Sarah as spinster. Both John Gransden and Sarah Wood sign the register so both write at least a little and probably read. Both signatures are well formed.
John ? and Martha ?- not Grant, may or may not be the Martha Grant nee Hall that Sarah signed the register for the previous year. If so she is not using her husbands surname or may have re-married.
(Strood Parish register)
