The Crops. Canowindra. -From all parts of this district farmers report phernomenal growths of wheat and oats. Mr. Henry Gransden, of Burdett, has a beautiful crop of oats, which is nearly 8ft high. This is perhaps a record for the State. Mr. W. Bassett, the successful Lockwood farmer, has an oat crop 7 1/2 ft high, and Mr. M. O. Thompson has a similar crop 7ft high and whear 6ft high. The oat crop is yielding three tons of hay per acre. There are a few instances of record crops close around Canowindra. The Sydney Morning Herald Tuesday 9 November 1909.
