General Notes:
After attending school in Edenville, Vernor went to Ferris State College and studied business . He became a salesman for the International Paper company. He along with two other men formed the Containers Corporation in California. As time went by he became the Vice President of International Paper Company of Chicago. When he came back after being married he had a large house built on the property that had been owned by his father on Water Road across the road from the Edenville School. He also had a house in Miami, Florida. After having a heart attack he spent his summers in Edenville and when here he started the Vernell Diary Farm in section 12 of Edenville. The farm was run by George and Violet Burgess for a number of years. Not only did they supply milk to the Edenville area, but also Midland. In November of 1940 Vernor was out deer hunting all day. When he came in for dinner he was not feeling well. He had a heart attack and died in the house. Vernor was buried in the Edenville cemetery and three years later was taken to Chicago to his wife's family plot. Service held at St.Brigidts In Midland by Fr. J.B.Illig
