Comments & summary of will, B Saunders Apr 2002;

Richard Stapley yeoman of Rotherfield made his will 31/8/1710 and it was proved 13/9/1711. A codicil which predates the will is mentioned. I have not seen this, but it would appear to be the inventory.

Ric provided well for his wife Susan in the form of generous legacies.

Ric makes his eldest son John executor and he inherits the bulk of the estate.

Ric gives his son Wm 25 pds and to Wm's children Eliz, Ric, Thos & Wm he gives 5 pds each except Ric who got 10.

Ric gives his son Ric 50 pds and also 5pds to his son Ric.

Ric gives his son Robt 25 pds and Starlette(Scarlette) Green, Rotherfield conditional on it being passed on to his son Robt. He also gives Robt's children Ric, Edw & Eliz 5 pds each.

Ric gives his son Thos 120 pounds.

Richard married Susan Pococke, daughter of William Pococke and Mary Heseman, on 26 Aug 1666 in Rotherfield, Sussex, England ³⁸⁶.^,800 (Susan Pococke was born in 1637 in Rotherfield, Sussex, England ³⁸⁶, christened on 17 Dec 1637 in Rotherfield, Sussex, England ³⁸⁶ and died in 1727 ³⁸⁶.)
