Sarah Gransden
Passed away 21st Dec. 1920
Aged 69 years.
In Loving Memory of a very
Dear Mother and Grandmother

MRS. SARAH GRANSDEN.
There passed away recently at Toogong,
in the Canowindra Circuit, one of our
beloved church members, Sarah Gransden.
Born at Macquarie Plains, nearly seventy
years ago, her early religious training was
such as to inspire in her very early in life
a love for Christ 'that increased with the
years. She became a member of the So
ciety Class of which the leader was her
saintly father, the late Thomas Balcomb.
Of a somewhat retiring disposition, she
nevertheless took advantage of any oppor
tunity presenting itself- of doing something
for her Lord, and Master. She sent Chris
tian literature to folk far removed from
the means of grace. A few months be
fore her death she opened a Sunday school
in her own home, that children in the
vicinity might have religious instruction.
She loved her Bible: its promises were
very real to her. In her last illness she
often talked of the "many mansions. "
She gave copies of God's Word to her
six sons for keepsakes. She 'went home'
looking forward with joy to meeting her
Saviour. And while her loss brought sad
ness, we remember her unselfishness and
devotion, her charm of manner and grace
of character, and we are, above all, com
forted and encouraged by the triumph of
her faith.'97 S.O.D.
