History of Toogong ..."the Gransdens took over the premisis, sometime in the early 1920's. Mr A.H. Gransden became postmaster and after his death, Mrs. Gransden was appointed, 1 August, 1926. She was assisted by her daughters Myrtle, Melva and Millie. after Mrs. Gransden died, Miss Melva Gransden was appointed on 1 March, 1930. her sister, Miss Millie Gransden, who had always assisted, became postmistress on 1 January, 1940 when melva married. Men and Women. The Molong diststrict received a shock when it became known that Mr. Albert Gransden, of Toogong, had died suddenly. He had been working away from home and had contracted a cold, and thought it would soon pass away, but pneumonia supervened. He was hurried away to Orange Hospital in the ambulance, but died on reaching that institution. He was of a retiring disposition and had earned the esteem and respect of all. He was share farming with Mr. Roy Balcombe and had been connected with Toogong Post Office for years. The death occurred at the Orange Hospital, on Tuesday last, ten minutes after admission, of Mr. A. H. Gransden, aged 47 years, a well known farmer of Toogong, from pneumonia. I do hereby give devise Will and bequeath my right title and Interest in all my piece and parcel of land situated at Burdett in the Parish of Toogong County of Ashburnham- also all my goods and chattels real and personal property of every description- wheresoever and whatsoever to my wife Emily Gransden Do hereby appoint Herbert Nash, Farmer of Macquarie Toogong sole executor to this my last Will. Signed at Toogong on the third day of August 1926, in the presence of Witness.
