Thornberry - Gransden
A very pretty wedding was celebrated at St. Alban's Church of England,
Toogong, on Wednesday, 10th February, at 5 p.m., the contracting parties
being Winifred Millie, youngest daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Albert
Gransden, of Toogong, and Victor Clive, youngest son of Mr. F. Thorn-
berry and the late Mrs. Thornberry, of Eugowra.
The Rev. Searle, of Cudal, officiated at the ceremony.
The bride, who looked striking in a charming frock of white satin and a
white tulle bridal veil held in place with orange blossoms, carried a beautiful bouquet of gladioli, carnations and roses, and entered the church on the arm of her brother-in-law, Mr. J. Mulligan, who gave her away.
She was attended by her sister, Mrs. Williams, as matron of honor, and
Miss McCartney, who wore an Alice blue crepe frock.
Two little flower girls, Sylvia Mulligan and Fay Keogh, looked sweet in
their blue taffeta frocks. They each wore a gold heart and chain, the gift
of the bridegroom.
Mr. M. Gransden acted as best man, and Mr. McCartney was groomsman. Miss G. Balcomb presided at the organ, and during the signing of the register Miss U. Balcomb soulfully ren-dered "Because."
The reception was held at "Enoh Rus," Toogong, the home of the bride's
sister, where the usual toasts were honored. The beautiful two-decker
cake was made by Mrs. Williams, and decorated by Miss Wensley, of Canowindra.
The young couple received many beautiful presents, including several
cheques, and many telegrams of congratulations and good wishes.
When leaving for the honeymoon, which is to be spent in Leura, the
bride wore a smart blue frock with white accessories.
The future home of Mr. and Mrs. Thornberry will be at "Rose Glen," Eugowra.
