History of Toogong ..."the Gransdens took over the premisis, sometime in the early 1920's. Mr A.H. Gransden became postmaster and after his death, Mrs. Gransden was appointed, 1 August, 1926. She was assisted by her daughters Myrtle, Melva and Millie. after Mrs. Gransden died, Miss Melva Gransden was appointed on 1 March, 1930. her sister, Miss Millie Gransden, who had always assisted, became postmistress on 1 January, 1940 when melva married. On 1 December, 1942 Mrs. Bessie Streeter succeeded Millie Gransden who also left to be married."

Molong Express contains an obituary of Emily's death d. age 50 Canowindra. Obit published 7 Jan 1933.
Miss Emily Gransden of Toogong who died at the "Memorial Hospital" Canowindra, on December 2, aged 50 years was the widow of the late Mr. Albert Gransden, who predeceased her six years ago. Mrs. Gransden was born at Parkes. Thirty-Three years ago she came to reside at Burdett. For the past 14 years she had been in charge of the Toogong Post Office. Deceased took a prominent part to the social and domestic life of the district, and was respected and loved by a large circle of friends. The sympathy of the whole district is extended to the family in their irreparable loss. Mr Gordon Hale, of Orange, is a brother, and Mrs. Maurice Bryant, of "Merrylee," Peakhill is a sister. Mrs Aubrey McCartney, of Weethalle, Mrs. Jack Mulligan of Burdett, and the Misses Melva and Millie, of Toogong are daughters: Maurice (canowindra), Harry and Velda (Toogong) are sons. The funeral, which was largely attended, took place at the Church of England portion of the Toogong Cemetery. The Rev. F. J. Evans officiated at the graveside.


Mrs. Emily Irvine was the postmistress until the Gransdens took over the premisis, sometime in the early 1920's. Mr A. H.
