CHEERO'S CONCERT. A successful entertainment was given in the Town Hall, Rockdale, recently, in aid of St. George Ambulance, when the pretty Pantomime, ' Cinderella,' was produced. Mrs. R. G. Macpherson presided at the piano. The caste of characters was as follows: Cinderella, Bee Macpherson; Baron, Ida Delaney; Baroness, Haidee Hespe; Ugly Sisters, Rita Forshall and Eileen Sel mon; Prince, Elsie Jackson: Heralds, Norman and Arthur Macpherson; Page, Jessie Hespe; Trumpeter, Amy Taylor; Fairy Godmother, Violet Jackson; Fairy Attendants, Alma Smith; Ivy Bean; Daphne Witcher, Rita Evans, Hil da Arnold, Edna Yards, Elmo Sullivan; Footmen, Frieda Moore, Laurel Evans; Coachman, Una Latham; Court Jester, Dickie Macpherson. The programme ran smoothly throughout, some of the young people showing considerable abil ity. The dresses were very pretty and appropriate, and the large audiencet free ly applauded many of the Company, for their clever impersonations. During the ball scene a concert programme was rendered. Mr, T. Healey, Mr. R. 'Tomlinson (both returned soldiers), who received hearty encores; sailors' horn pipe, Little Jackie Taylor; Highland Fling, Mabel Cooper; Irish Jig, Alma Smith; and Amy Taylor; Songs, E. Sen dall, Mrs. Macpherson, Winnie Selmon, Violet Jackson, Mr. C. Holmes, and the ' Prince.' The Call Song, Norman Macpherson, brought 23/8 to the funds. The Grand March by the full company, and the arrival of Cinderella in her coach, was received by the audience with great enthusiasm. Mrs. Macpher son and Mrs. Huddy, the two principals of the Company, were presented with handsome bouquets by the President of the Association, who also thanked the Cheero's for this their second concert to help the Ambulance Funds. , The company is having a short recess over Xmas, and start the New Year with ' Cinderella,' touring the St. George Electorate, for the benefit of the local hospital. CHEERO'S BALL. At Clareviile Hall, Sandringham, on Saturday, November 9th. the above Society held their first fancy dress ball, which proved a great success. Among the visitors was Mrs. Stuart. Secretary, Kogarah Red Cross, and several other ladies. Below are several of the fancy costumes \emdash Miss Hespe, Britannia; Miss H. Hespe, Australia; Miss V. Jackson, Bridge; Miss B. Evans, French Girl; Miss E. Selmon, Gipsy Boy; Miss T. Evans, Arabian; Miss W. Selmon, June Roses, Miss M. Cooper, Highland Dancer; Miss R. Forshall, Witch; Miss L. Evans, Blueball; Miss B. Evans, Buttercup. The first prize was awarded to Miss Ivy Bean as The Or ange Girl. Second to Freda Moore as Starlight Fairy. Adults' .first prize was scored by Miss Haidee Hespe, as Australia. Miss B. Macpherson was presented with a special prize from Mrs. Stuart, of Kogarah. A special item of the evening was the singing of the Allied Nations' Anthems. Rumours of peace helped to make the evening most enjoyable. As M's.C., Messrs. Moore and Macpherson were up-to-date. St. Paul's Church, Kograh, was the scene of a pretty double wedding on Saturday, April 24th, which caused a great amount of local interest. The Rev, S. G. Best officiated. The Church was beautifully decoratd and crowded to its utmost capacity, and Miss Brookes presided at the organ. Miss Flossie Craven, eldest daughter of Mrs. Craven, and the late Mr Harry Craven, or Rawson Street, Sans Souci, was married to Mr. Leonard G. Bean, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Percy Bean, Rocky Point Road, Sans Souci, was given away by her uncle, Mr Sid Anderson. Miss Ivy Bean, only daughter of Mr and Mrs. Percy Bean of Sans Souci was united to Mr. Harold Sharp, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Sharp, Rocky Point Road, Sans Souci, and was given away by her father. The brides were beautifully gowned in ivory georgette and hand made panse velvet flowers, and ivory duchess satin with an overdress of crystal and ****. Then beautifully embroidered...
