NATIONAL VICTORY BALL.
The Victory Ball, arranged by the Barton
National Women's Social Committee, at Rock-
dale, on Tuesday evening, attracted a very
large -attendance. The competitive dances
and other competitions created great Interest,
and at the close of the evening prizes were
presented by Mrs . T. J. Ley and Mrs. J. G. D.
Arkins to the successful competitors, who in-
cluded Mrs. W. T. Tate, Mr. and Mrs. Thorne,
Mr. Watson, Miss Carr, Miss Nutt (doyleys).
Miss Collier, Mrs. Hunt, Mrs. Budden, Mrs.
Thompson, Mr. Len Logan (jazz caps). Alder-
man B. J. Gardiner (Mayor of Rockdale), pro-
posed the loyal toast; Mr. S. Firth Turnor,
the toast of the National Association and the
ball, which was responded to by Mr. J. R.
Neild. Mr, A. Malnerd toasted the Barton
National Women's Social Committee, making
special mention of tho president, Mrs. R. W.
Richards, and the hon. secretary, Mrs, May-
nard Green.
